The RePowerSiC project is participating in the IEEE Wireless Power Technologies Conference and Expo 2026 (WPTCE 2026), which will be held in Halifax, Canada, in July 2026.
As part of the conference programme, Prof. Antonio García Loureiro, Prof. Natalia Seoane Iglesias from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), and Prof. Eduardo Fernández from the University of Jaén (UJA) will organize the workshop “Advances and Challenges in Laser Wireless Power Transmission for Space and Terrestrial Applications.”
The workshop will focus on recent progress, open challenges, and future perspectives in laser-based wireless power transmission, addressing both space and terrestrial applications. It will provide a forum for researchers and experts to discuss technological advances, system-level developments, and emerging opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.
In addition, the RePowerSiC team will present three scientific contributions at the conference, reflecting the active involvement of early-career researchers in the project. These contributions include one work led by a PhD student and two works developed by Master’s students:
Participation in WPTCE 2026 represents an important opportunity for RePowerSiC to present its latest research results, strengthen collaboration with the international wireless power research community, and contribute to the development of next-generation laser wireless power transmission technologies.
