RePowerSiC at WPTCE 2026: workshop on laser wireless power transmission and three research contributions

8 Jun 2026

The RePowerSiC project will participate in the IEEE Wireless Power Technologies Conference and Expo 2026 (WPTCE 2026), taking place in Halifax, Canada, in July 2026. The team will contribute to the conference through a dedicated workshop and three scientific contributions addressing SiC laser power converters, robotic laser power transfer, and optical wireless power transfer for remote LiDAR sensing.

Why rePowerSiC?

What makes us different from others? We give holistic solutions with strategy, design & technology.

Light-weight Design

Reduce the size and weight of power receiver devices, optimizing spacecraft payload capacity.

Eco-Friendly

Developed using sustainable and non-toxic raw materials, ensuring minimal environmental impact.

Scalable Power Solutions

Adaptable technology suitable for a wide range of space missions, from small satellites to large exploratory crafts.

High Durability

Built to withstand the harsh conditions of space, including extreme temperatures and radiation.
How it works

The Technology Behind rePowerSiC

rePowerSiC employs cutting-edge Laser Power Transmission (LPT) technology to beam energy across space using a highly efficient Silicon Carbide-based power converter. This approach allows for the transmission of energy densities up to kW/cm2, while keeping the receiver size compact. The SiC-based system is designed to withstand the harsh conditions of space, providing a reliable power source for a wide range of space missions.
