UJA
The university of Jaén is a public higher education institution based in Andalucía (Spain) that was created in 1993 and which has received the distinction of Campus of International Excellence in the fields of Agrifood (CEIA3) and Climate Change (CamBio), plus it also leads the Andalusian CEI project on historical heritage PatrimoniUN10. Besides, the UJA highly ranks for its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals according to THE - Times Higher Education (World University Rankings).
UJA has five faculties (Social and Legal Sciences; Humanities and Education Sciences; Health Sciences; Experimental Sciences and Social Work) and two higher polytechnic schools for engineering (Linares and Jaén) as well as an associated center (SAFA Professional School in Úbeda). In turn, these centers are organized into 35 departments, plus six specialized centers at UJA (CAAI, INUO, IISTA, DaSCI, CEACTEMA, CEATIC) strongly contribute to the university’s outstanding R&I performance.
Universidad de Jaén is also renowned for its well-established links with industry and generation of spin-offs, plus for its internationalization strategy, As an example, UJA is a member of GUNi, EUA, Food4LifeSpain, BIC Consortium, S3 Partnership on Sustainable Buildings, AgrotechDIH or I4-GREEN, plus it has also contributed to EIP on Raw Materials and EIP-AGRI.

Dr. Eduardo F. Fernández
Dr. Eduardo F. Fernández (scopus ID: 37120335500). He has obtained his PhD at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2012 in the field on concentrator photovoltaics and multi-junction solar cells. Nowadays, he is head of the Advances in Photovoltaic Technology research group (AdPVTech; https://adpvtech.ujaen.es/en/home/) at the University of Jaén (Spain). He has more than 10 years of experience in the field of photovoltaics working in several prestigious institutes, universities and private companies. Dr. Fernández has been involved and lead more than 25 research projects, published over 130 papers indexed in ISI JCR, and presented more than 100 contributions in the most relevant international conferences and workshops. Dr. Fernández is also member of +10 academic and scientific societies, and co-inventor of several patents.
Dr. Florencia Almonacid
Dr. Florencia Almonacid (Scopus ID: 24472525600): Currently, full professor in the Department of Electronic and Automatic Engineering of the University of Jaén (2022-), she obtained her PhD J in 2009 in the field on photovoltaics and learning machine techniques. She has more than 25 years of experience in the field of the photovoltaic solar energy. Her main research lines are related with the photovoltaic (PV), concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) and currently in emerging photovoltaic technologies with the development of novel concept to promote their efficiency and competitiveness. She has participated in more than 21 research projects with funding exceeding 8M euros, beeing Principal Investigator of nine of them, published over 100 papers indexed in ISI JCR, presented more than 100 contributions in the most relevant international conferences and workshops and is co-inventor of three patents.
