Alminica AB, partner in the project rePowerSiC, announces that Dr. Mikael Syväjärvi has been accepted as a mentor in the European Innovation Council expert network.
The EIC Tech to Market Programme is part of the EIC Business Acceleration Services and supports Europe’s deep-tech innovators in transforming breakthrough research into market-ready ventures. The programme connects experienced mentors with EIC-funded innovators to strengthen commercialization strategies, validate value propositions, and accelerate pathways from laboratory research to industrial and societal impact.
Dr. Syväjärvi was selected based on his long-standing experience in deep-tech innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, and commercialization of advanced materials and semiconductor technologies.
Dr. Mikael Syväjärvi is Founder and CEO of Alminica AB (founded in 2016), an SME supporting the creation of impact and exploitation from advanced materials research and innovation.
Within rePowerSiC, Alminica AB contributes expertise in innovation management, exploitation pathways, and data-driven value creation supporting the project’s ambition to strengthen Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem.
As part of the mentor network, Dr. Syväjärvi is available to support EIC innovator teams through strategic guidance and early-stage commercial development. The mentor role focuses on helping innovators challenge assumptions, refine market opportunities, and bridge the gap between scientific excellence and real-world deployment.
The participation further strengthens the connection between rePowerSiC activities and broader European innovation initiatives, including collaboration with the European Commission’s Innovation Radar initiative for identifying high-potential innovations emerging from EU-funded research projects.
“Europe’s competitiveness in deep-tech depends on our ability to translate excellent research into scalable market opportunities. Supporting innovators at this critical stage is essential to create realistic implementation of research outcomes” - says Dr. Mikael Syväjärvi.
