Highlights from the 5th EIC Space Portfolio Webinar on Astrobotic Innovations and Lessons from the Peregrine Mission

On September 18th, 2025, the 5th EIC Space Portfolio Webinar brought together more than 30 participants to explore Astrobotic’s pioneering work in lunar exploration, with a special focus on the challenges and lessons learned from the Peregrine Mission. 

 

The session featured Ander Solorzano, Associate Chief Engineer for Astrobotic's Griffin Mission One and Flight Director of the company’s first space mission, Peregrine Mission One. Ander shared his professional journey, from his early passion for robotics in Venezuela to his advanced studies at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University, where he specialized in intelligent vehicles and autonomous systems.

 

At Astrobotic, Ander has played a central role in mission design and execution, collaborating with NASA and Airbus engineers to lay the groundwork for Peregrine Mission One and leading multidisciplinary teams toward future lunar payload deliveries.

 

During the webinar, Ander reflected on the technical, organizational, and operational lessons learned from Peregrine, providing valuable insights for future missions. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where attendees raised thought-provoking questions on mission challenges and the future of lunar exploration.

 

The 5th webinar once again highlighted the importance of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing within the EIC Space Portfolio, inspiring participants to look ahead to the next generation of space achievements.
